Missions
IT IS THE GOAL OF FBS MISSIONS TO SERVE THE MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH, OUR COMMUNITY, AND THE WORLD THROUGH THE PREACHING OF THE GOSPEL.
You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
~Acts 1:8~
Serving Students
One of the most overlooked mission fields today is the college campus. Our church has sent many students out into this world - students who want to make a difference for Christ, and who are working to change the presuppositions against God that are all too often found in educational capacities.

Students have brought that about by bringing the positivity and respect of Christ to collegiate sports, interning in a foreign country as a teacher, sharing biblical solutions to the mental health crisis on campus, or simply by being open about their faith.
Our students are passionate about living for Christ. The church supports these efforts in the form of prayer, periodic care packages, and frequent updates on the status of the students.
Serving Shapleigh
Our church makes serving the community a priority. Whether it is by hosting the Shapleigh Food Pantry, supporting a local Christian radio station (WSEW), or volunteering at the Alpha Pregnancy Resource Center in Sanford, our desire is always to love our neighbor and give God the glory.
What makes hosting the Food Pantry so special is that it is a community supported endeavor, with many local businesses and individuals contributing to the cause.
Alpha Pregnancy Resource Center provides free pregnancy tests, information on all pregnancy options, and post-abortion support.

Serving Sekenani
It has been a privilege for FBS to partner with Straight Up Missions (SUM) in Sekenani, Kenya. Travis Sawyer and his family have been serving the people of Sekenani since 2006. Travis pastors a church that reaches over 300 people every Sunday, has been instrumental in starting a medical clinic, girls home, K-12 school, snack shack, and gas station. The snack shack and gas station provide jobs for people in the community and helps support the mission.

Since 2017, FBS has sent a team each year to Sekenani to help assist with various projects around the mission. This has allowed us to work directly with the Sawyers, as well as build relationships with the people of Sekenani.

In 2022, for the first time in our 200+ year history, FBS became the sending church for a family going to the foreign mission field. That family, the Robertsons, arrived in Sekenani in January 2023 and have quickly begun the difficult task of language learning and relationship building in a new culture.
